The object of the game is to
get the highest point total from throwing a Toypedo through
the target. The target has openings with varying point
totals depending on the size and position of the board.
Contestants in scuba gear throw side-by-side in head-to-head
competition during the round robin tournament. There are
specific rules and points for special types of throws and
scores.
1. Players will get four (4)
practice throws prior to tournament start. The “Qualifying
Round” consists of eight (8) throws per player. The total
score will determine the players “seed” or placement on the
tournament brackets, as preliminary rounds may have byes.
2. The highest total score
wins the round. Each player will get four (4) throws per
round.
3. The contestant with the
highest total will win that round.
4. This is a single
elimination tournament, one loss and you are out of the
tournament.
5. The point totals on the
target are 5, 10, 20, and 40 for hitting the bulls-eye.
6. Contestants may double
their sore by breaching the surface with a dart, which then
hits the target.
7. Each contestant may triple
their score by throwing from the shallow end, which is
approximately 30 feet from the board.
8. All ties will be settled
with a sudden death toss, if tied on the first throw,
continue until one contestant has a higher score.
9. A dart must pass
completely through the target to count as a score.
10. When a contestant throws
a dart and it scores on the opponent’s board, their opponent
gets the points.
11. If the dart goes through
the board (score A) and comes back through the target (score
B), the contestant gets the total of both scores.
12. A contestant may not lean
over the line when throwing a dart; feet/fin tips may not
cross the throw line.
13. All walls are out of
bounds.
14. The scorekeeping judges’ calls are
final.
